Owen Sound - On Sunday, October 25^th four members of The Saugeen Triathlon Club ventured to Harrison Park in Owen Sound to run in the Owen Sound Family YMCA’s 1^st Annual Family Y Autumn Colours Run. Accompanying our members were a number of participants and run leaders from the Hanover, Durham and Mount Forest Run/Walk Clinics.

For the Run/Walk Clinic participants, this events was a goal race for many of them. The run courses were on trails throughout the park and featured distances of two kilometers, five kilometers and 10 kilometers. For our members, it was a great excuse to do one of the things we do well - run!

Danica Metcalfe and Christelle Smith met the challenge of the 10 kilometer course. Danica finished in 4^th place out of 11 in the women’s 20 to 40 age group in a time of 58:31. While Christelle claimed 5^th place out of 11 in the same age group, recording a time of 1:03:15.

Jamie Graham and myself tackled the five kilometer course. Jamie bagged 7^th spot out of 14 in the men’s 20 to 40 age group, booking a time of 28:15. I placed in 5^th spot out of 12 in the men’s 41 and older age group with a time of 21:00 flat.

A number of our run clinic participants grabbed podium spots in their runs. I don’t have to tell any of you who are involved in the Run/Walk Clinics the joy you feel when you see new runner succeed in their first runs. The organizer’s of this run promise a bigger and better run next year.
